Okay, I had to post this photo because it's just too funny. While making dinner tonight, Rex came running into the scrapbook room, grabbed the camera and left. This was the resulting photo. I think he has started to think like a scrapbooker.....just don't tell him I said that.

Today when I got home from work I decided that I was just going to take time for me. I meant to do the laundry, I meant to organize a few things, I meant to get some work done around the house, but instead I sat down next to Rex in the scrapbooking room (he was creating a musical masterpiece on the computer) and just scrapped. I finished my fall tin album, I finished my handmade journey album and I started a Christmas organizer. I feel good!

I brought home our new toy today, can you guess what it is? I'll give you a hint, I'm using it right now. I can use it in the kitchen or in the living room while watching TV. Our photography business will benefit from it. This blog will benefit from it. It is sleek and a whole lot of fun. A great deal too, thanks to our good friend Mike. You rock Mike!
Did you guess?
***Edited: This is the hundredth post! And it only took a year and a couple of months :)

Thought I would share this painting. I really hope to buy it someday because it makes me happy. It does a great job of reflecting my mood right now. I think it looks a lot like the way I picture us, a little serious, a tad mysterious, and on the verge of having way too much fun together. ( I also just adore hedgehogs!)
Here are my goals for the weekend:
(maybe if I write them down, I will actually stick to them)
1. Figure out my new toy (not telling yet, saving it for later)
2. Pat myself on the back for having both of our cars paid off
3. Get creative and actually get some scrapbooking done
4. Figure out the new writing lesson plans
5. Read a good magazine
6. Edit more of the vacation photos
7. Celebrate Rex's new job with him
8. Spend time with good friends over an amazing bowl of jambalaya
Until then.....Have fun storming the castle, I'll be here holding down the fort.

A couple of weekends ago we headed to the zoo with our upstairs neighbors. Snuck the boys in using our family pass and had a lot of fun seeing the exhibits through the eyes of little ones for a change. Despite the massive amounts of people and the extreme heat, we had a wonderful time once again. (Took lots of fun photos too!) I don't think I'll ever get tired of visiting the zoo. :)

This weekend we headed to ARTS, BEATS & EATS in Pontiac with Rach to check out RADIOCRAFT. They ROCKED as usual and we got lots of great pictures too! (Chris, Josie, I'll burn them for you :) Looking at art and listening to live music is such a great way to spend the last Saturday of summer vacation. I even got a little bit of sun in the process.
**Still catching up. I'm in the process of editing and uploading photos of the zoo, labor day and our trip with mom and dad. Thanks for being so patient, more to come very soon!
